Time Capsule

Thursday 21st April 2016 - starting from 7.30pm

Our Time Capsule will be buried on the Green by a boy and a girl (aged 16 years or under) whose names will be drawn out of a hat before the event.

The plan is that it will be excavated and opened some time in 2090 so approximately 75 years from now - which, based on current life expectancy figures of 80 years for boys and 85 years for girls (see Government Statistics) should mean that a number of our current village children will be around to witness this.

Its quite a large capsule - as you see from the picture - so there is room for plenty of things and anyone from Reach can contribute.

To get some ideas (provided by the manufacturer) of what might go in it - please click here - and Wikipedia also has some thoughts on the subject.

One thing we'd especially like would be for village children to produce a single sheet of paper with 10 bullet points saying what the world might be like in January 2090 - obviously parents might want to give some level of assistance to the younger children.

Please get all your items to me - David Parr (20 Fair Green) - before the deadline date of 6.00pm on Tuesday 19th April 2016.
